Challenging the Media Order
PROGRESSIVE MEDIA NEWS
Pacifica Radio reports it is reorganizing:
”BERKELEY, CA - The Pacific Foundation, a national listener-sponsored radio network that celebrates its 57th anniversary on April 15, is filling open positions at one of its local stations and on the national staff. “We’re moving cautiously to preserve continuity,” said Executive Director Greg Guma, who assumed his position only two months ago, “but preparing for some exciting new initiatives.”
“At KPFA-FM, the network’s flagship station, Development Director Lemlem Rijio will become Interim General Manager on April 3. A University of California graduate, Rijio has been director of development at the station since 2004. She has ten years of experience in fundraising, and has been responsible for a $4 million annual fundraising effort at KPFA. She replaces Roy Campanella, who left the job in late January….
“These staff changes may look modest,” he added, “but they are a step toward unleashing the tremendous, often latent potential within and surrounding Pacifica. The idea is to work synergistically, reach out to the larger independent media movement of which Pacific is a part, and move forward together. It’s time for Pacifica to retake its place as a leading voice and moving force in community-based media.”

EJC: Australian Prime Minister’s office has spoof website closed down
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) voiced shock at the methods used by the office of Australian Prime Minister John Howard to censor parody website Johnhowardpm.org, on which political commentator Richard Neville posted a spoof speech by Howard about the presence of Australian troops in Iraq.
‘All the world’s leaders are subject to parody and the Australian prime minister should learn to live with it rather than banning it,’ RSF said.”

QUOTE OF THE DAY
From Mark Morford in the SF Chronicle:
“….on this, the third anniversary of the launch of Bush’s illegal invasion of Iraq by way of whoring the tragedy of Sept. 11 for his cronies’ appalling gain, what you might not know, what gets so easily forgotten in the mists of time and via the endless repetition of the orthodox Sept. 11 tale, is the sheer volume, the staggering array of unanswered questions about just about every single aspect of Sept. 11 — the planes, the WTC towers, the Pentagon, the fires, the passengers and the cell phone calls and the firefighters and, well, just about everything. It is, when you look closely, all merely a matter of how far down the rabbit hole you are willing to go…
“You have to look. You have to try. Knowledge is power, and while the truth may be spurious and slippery and messy and deep, the pursuit of it is just about the only thing we have left. Give that up, and all that’s left is spiritual numbness, emotional stasis and death. So what are you waiting for?”

The enormity of the crime overwhelms the reality of the facts. The complicity of so many is difficult to accept, yet, all signs point in the direction of mass murder, accompanied by a deadly cover-up, and the willingness of the corporate media to totally ignore the scientific, technical and personal evidence (phycists , mathematicians, demolition experts, eye witnesses, videos, still photographs, etc), plus the almost impossible conjunction of improbables through which the event is viewed.
March 31st, 2006 at 6:11 pmInteresting how the word “outrageous” kept popping up from the Rovian machine, similar to the
“mushroom cloud” — and other lock-step mandates from within — when the questions started to make sense to a lot of people. I hope I live long enough (I’m 75) to see this bunch of killers rounded up, and, perhaps, just perhaps, they could be used to test the French guillotines which the Department of Homeland Security has purchased. You doubt this? Check it out, along with why the hell are they spending more than $350 million (to Halliburton, of course) for building what amounts to concentration camps? The purpose, or so they say, is for “Special Programs”. Who will they come for first?? Check out the many worthwhile blogs on this topic, you will be shocked at what you may learn.

Thank you Mark Morford and Frank Espada. And may we all live to see the criminals held to account.
