”I finally have to admit that this Alice in Wonderland world is becoming a bit much for me. Yesterday, I read where Cong. Burton of Indiana instigated an investigation of Bill Clinton’s cat, Socks, during the Clinton presidency. I also read that one of the things we learned from the multi-million dollar Starr report was the shape of Bill Clinton’s penis. While we got all this important information, some of the people who were responsible for getting it for us, Burton for example, says it is not at all important to look into Bush’s use of the NSA for wiretaps without a warrant. If it were just Burton and a few other like-minded political hacks, that would be bad enough; but a lot of people voted for him, and I’m sure they all feel the same way. In fact, I would guess the percentage of the population who approve of domestic spying without a warrant approaches 50%. By the way, if any of those NSA people are listening in, I would like to say, “Hi guys!”
“THE FACISM THAT CAN NOT BE NAMED”
Robert Lechtenberg writes:
Danny…Day by day I am watching our Democracy beingtaken over by a Fascist revolt led by the people inour White House. Why is the word “Fascism” not being used daily in the media to describe the current dynamic of our government ? Government of the people by the people for the people is in America’s past; we now have government of the people by the corporations for the corporations.
“That is not democracy–it is Fascism. Bush’s arrogant “in your face” challenge to the courts around illegal wiretaps is the watershed event in the test for survival of our Democracy. If
Bush wins, we will live in a new United States called “Amerika”. In this fight, media is either for us o against us. Has media learned its lesson well enough in 2005 to rise to challenge this imminent Fascist threat to our Democracy?
HOW NOW MAO?

Just learned it’s not true:

Maybe I’ll pause an extra second or two now before accusing the right wingers of believing what they want to believe without thinking it through….Slightly more humble
Actually, Bob one of our readers debunked that story last week and I dutifully reported it.
WILL THE REAL BOB GELDOF STAND UP?
BBC reports:
“Bob Geldof promises to stay politically “non-partisan” after agreeing to advise the Tories on global poverty.”
Finally, from Austria, comes word, via Reuters, that
Spoof posters depicting Britain’s Queen Elizabeth having sex with the U.S. and French presidents that are displayed across Vienna are causing embarrassment just days ahead of Austria’s taking over the EU presidency.
“The images show two naked female models wearing masks of President George W. Bush and the queen, and a male model with a President Jacques Chirac mask, positioned as if they are having sex.
Shocking!
