On the Torture Front

TORTURE WATCH

Check out Maureen Dowd’s chilling description in her column yesterday of on how Gitmo detainees were taunted by interrogators in mini skirts:

“A former American Army sergeant who worked as an Arabic interpreter at Gitmo has written a book pulling back the veil on the astounding ways female interrogators used a toxic combination of sex and religion to try to break Muslim detainees at the U.S. prison camp in Cuba. It’s not merely disgusting. It’s beyond belief.”

The NY Times also reports: “Security Nominee Gave Advice to the C.I.A. on Torture Laws…President Bush’s nominee for homeland security secretary advised the C.I.A. on the legality of coercive interrogation methods.”

Dan Cassidy sends this along: “The Israeli army has decided to activate a special unit skilled in waging information warfare and influencing Israeli and Palestinian public opinion, reports say.

“The Psychological Warfare Unit (PWU) will also disseminate ‘disinformation’ and ‘carefully manipulated information’ about Iran and other hostile and potentially hostile countries in the Middle East.

“According to Israeli press sources, the unit, which was disbanded nearly five years ago, is staffed with dozens of mostly Arabic-speaking intelligence officers as well as Shin Bet (Israel’s domestic intelligence agency) operatives.

“The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported on Tuesday that the unit, headed by a veteran intelligence officer holding the rank of a colonel, will be mainly involved in “the battle for the consciousness”.

Does this mean mind control and psychological torture? Sounds like it.

I guess fulfilling a Bible prophecy gives Israel the right to torture, occupy, and murder the Palestinian people.

It someone came to my door and said, “I know you and your family have owned this property for generations upon generations, but the Bible tells me that it’s mine so you have to leave now,” I think I would fight them with whatever means at my disposal. And Israel calls them terrorists.

Like a battered child, Israelies have taken on the role of their own oppressors from the Holocost years. They have become what they were nearly destroyed by. They are the most ruthless protectors of their own interests - not unlike their Nazi torturers.
Their psychological damage has never been addressed … and how it has played out in turning the Arab world into the shadow of their European enemies and themselves into heartless killers and Liebensraum seekers like their SS murderers..

"Curtailment of free speech is rationalized on grounds that a more compelling American tradition forbids criticism of the government when the nation is at war...Nothing can be more destructive of our fundamental democratic traditions than the vicious effort to silence dissenters."
