In a Pinch But Staying Strong

Because of a pinched nerve in his right arm, our News Dissector is unable to write at the moment, and so filed this audioblog entry. I hope you’ll join me in wishing him well.

Despite his condition, Danny heads tomorrow to the Freedom Cinema Festival (a sidebar to the Sundance Film Festival), where he will be honored with a tribute and retrospective of his documentaries dating to l968.

Danny’s latest film, "Weapons of Mass Deception" (WMD) is gaining momentum across the country. New Yorkers can look forward to an opening at the Village East on February 4 — coming on the heels of the Iraqi "elections." Peace activist Leslie Cagan of United for Peace and Justice (UFPJ) and others will be there to amplify the message.

For more information, or to get WMD screened in your area, visit www.wmdthefilm.com or write david@wmdthefilm.com. Please help spread the word.

Game Over. I have reluctantly disabled the comments on my blog because a small number of self-indulgent spammers and neer do wells with nothing to say about any of the issues I raise or report on, have stepped up the volume of their sniping and SPA's--Stupid personal attacks. I am sure readers find them as offensive and adolescent as I do. All hide behind anonymous emails and never really want replies or a dialogue. Snarky is one thing; insults another.

Your comments are welcome and I am happy to post them in the blog. Share comments, questions and criticisms by emailing me here.

    Thank you for understanding.

"Curtailment of free speech is rationalized on grounds that a more compelling American tradition forbids criticism of the government when the nation is at war...Nothing can be more destructive of our fundamental democratic traditions than the vicious effort to silence dissenters."
